ABOUT SENGKALING REACREATION PARK

Sengkaling Recreation park is one of the holiday spots in Malang visited by both domestic and foreign in tourists. The visitors are ranging from various gruops: children, teenagers, college students, and even the public. Its location is very strategic, colse to University of Muhammadiyah Malang and located right on the highway connecting Maalang and Batu. It easy to reach.

            Sengkaling Recreation Park was first eatablished by a Dutch named Mr. Coolnan in 1950. Since 1975, the recreation park has been managed by it. Bentoel Park of Bentoel Group. On may 1, 2013, University of Muhammadiyah Malang took over the park and becomes the largest shareholder of this  recreational park.

            During the initial operation, Sengkaling Recreation Park is built only for employees of Bentoel Group. Yet along with its development, Sengkaling Recreation Park is finally open for public. This recreational park has a total area of approximately  9 hectares. It has numbers of facilities including various types of rides and pools. Its competitive advantage is water attraction in which all of the water comes from natural resources.

To meet the desires and needs of the community at this present time, the sengkaling Recreation Park adds a new business unit named Sengkaling Food Festival. The recreation  park now open on weekdays and weekends from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m., while Sengkaling Food Festival  it self opens from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

            The concept of Food Festival was originally sparked from the idea of using the old parking lot on the recreatin park. It also appears from the idea to provide a rest area for travelers passing through Batu-Malang to find good place to eat and be relax. Food Festival started to build  in Februari 2014 and officially open on july 15, 2014. Sengkalling Food Festival  present variety  of food so that visitors can enjoy different cs.ulinary treats in one place. With outdoor concept, Food Festival offers beautiful scenery at night.. its also becomes a convenient place to enjoy food with cozy atmosphere in the evenings.

            As the largest culinary center in east java, Sengkaling Food Festival is completed with hundreds of tenant serving a variety of quality menu at affordable prices to all people. In addition to the delicacies, Sengkaling Food Festival is also surrounded by boutiques selling branded clothes, typical Malangese snacks, and also souveniers.
